We are now offering CSA vacations. We have been receiving requests for vacation options, and although in the past we haven’t offered this, we also understand that it’s summer and people take holidays! If you’d rather not find someone (a friend, neighbour or family member) to pick up your share while you’re away, you can put a “delivery hold” on your account.
How does it work?
Waratah Downs will gladly credit members for up to two delivery dates in one season. If you miss more than two shares you will not receive credit and we encourage you to get a friend or family member to pick up your share. As a trial this year, we will allow members to double up their shares the week following their first vacation, but we will only allow this option once per member.
In order to create your delivery hold, log-in to your account and click ‘delivery hold’ and indicate the dates that you will be missing. (eg. if you are missing August 6, 2015 enter your delivery hold from August 6 to August 6 and your account will be updated for our records). How do I receive my credit?
We will be offering a 2015 fall CSA which will be much shorter than our regular season. This share will include most storage, fall vegetables as well as some winter greens. You can put your vacation credit towards your next CSA subscription, whether it is our 2015 fall CSA or the 2016 summer season.
How much credit?
The credit system is based on your commitment as members to buy a share for the full season, so for every vacation you take you will receive a refund less 10% compounded.
Small share:
1st vacation: $18.70 credit or double up the week following your vacation
2nd vacation: $16.8 credit
Medium share:
1st vacation: $27.5 credit or double up the week following your vacation
2nd vacation: $24.75 credit
Large share:
1st vacation: $36.20 credit or double up the week following your vacation
2nd vacation: $32.60 credit
Unfortunately, if you just miss a share by not picking it up or if you do not tell us that you are going on vacation by the Monday at 6pm before your missed delivery date we cannot credit your account.
